Why Choose Cornwell

Why Should You Choose Cornwell?

Chances are, if you're reading this newsletter, it's because you're thinking about becoming a franchised dealer for Cornwell Quality Tools. We've put together this special edition of our company newsletter, Ironman, to help give you an idea of our philosophy, our corporate culture, and how we operate. After all, not all tool companies are the same.

There are many opportunities available to you in the mobile tool distribution business. Perhaps you're already considering a franchise with Snap-on, Matco or Mac Tools. While our products may be similar, our way of doing business is very different from the other companies. That's what we call the Cornwell difference.

Why choose Cornwell? There are two main reasons.

The first reason has to do with our attitude toward our dealer force. We are totally committed to the success of our dealers, because our dealers are our only customers. We don't sell our tools through retailers, through direct purchase or over the Internet. If you want Cornwell tools, you must buy them from a franchised dealer. Simply put, our success depends on your success.

The second reason to choose Cornwell is that we are a family and employee-owned business. The other big tool companies are publicly traded companies whose main goal is to satisfy Wall Street analysts who track their stocks' performance. That can lead to short-term decision-making that may not be in the best interest of the dealer.

We are not beholden to Wall Street. Founded in 1919 by master toolmaker Eugene Cornwell, Cornwell Quality Tools is independent. Every decision we make is designed to help your business grow. Throughout this issue, you'll read about some of the service and support systems we have in place to help you succeed in the field. For example, we offer dealers extensive training, not just when they come on, but on an ongoing basis. We help you with every aspect of the business like managing your inventory, selling toolboxes, managing your time, increasing collections and much more.

Our customer service department is fully staffed to help you with sales, ordering and shipping. The Tech Credit department helps you make those larger, big-ticket sales and helps you manage your cash flow. Our publication department keeps you informed of the latest additions to our extensive tool catalog as well as special offerings that can build your sales and profits.

And don't forget our annual tool rally. We offer special dealer incentives and a wide selection of training seminars to help you grow your business. It's a great place to make new friends and learn from each other, too.

We'll even give you a look at our hardline manufacturing process that starts with our forging plant in Albion, Pa., and ends at our factory in Mogadore, Ohio. We make our own forgings and we use only American-made steel in our hardline. Every one of the tools in our hardline is hand-made. Tour our facilities, talk to our engineers and factory workers, and you'll see why a Cornwell tool is second to none.

Remember as you read about these departments: Their job is to help you succeed.

But you don't have to take our word for it. In this issue we profile some of our best dealers, some of whom came directly from our competitors. You'll hear from them what Cornwell means to their success. You'll also have a chance to learn about four of our district managers to see how they work with their dealers, helping them solve problems and get more sales.

I wish you well in your quest to establishing a business for yourself. I hope to see you come through our Wadsworth facility soon as a brand new Cornwell dealer!
